M’hamid El Ghizlane is the gateway to Morocco’s deep Sahara. All Ultimate Sahara treks start here, led by local nomads who know the desert inside out. This guide gives travellers a clear, reliable overview of how camel treks work, what’s included, and the routes available.

Sahara for Beginners – 2 nights, easy, camels day one, 4x4 day two, sunset/sunrise on Erg Chigaga.
Sahara Plus – 3 nights, moderate, Sidi Naji, Erg Zahar, Bo Ghabra, natural desert well.
Sahara Pro – 5 nights, advanced, Sidi Naji, Erg Zahar, Erg Smar, Ait Ounir, Bo Ghabra.
Prices
Beginners: €280 adults / €185 children.
Plus: €330 adults / €220 children.
Pro: €425 adults / €280 children.
Pre-trek hotel: €50/70/85.
Serviced camp: €50 (Beginners).
Transfers: Marrakech €380 taxi / €690 bus; Agadir €480 / €670; Ouarzazate €290 / €420.
What’s included
Nomadic guides, camels, tents, bedding, all meals, mineral water, camp setup, hammam visit at the end.
Not included: transport to M’hamid (available as add‑on), insurance, tips.
What the trek is like
Private groups only. 3–5 hours walking per day depending on route. Camels carry your bags. Meals cooked by your chef. Nights in wild camps under the stars. Optional serviced camp on Beginners. Natural wells on Plus/Pro. Patchy signal; bring power banks.
Road trips to M’hamid
Private transfers with scenic stops: Tizi n’Tichka, Ait Benhaddou, Tamegroute, Taroudant, Tazenakht. Drivers can go direct or customise the route.
Yoga treks
6‑day and 8‑day nomadic yoga journeys for teachers running their own group. Airport pick‑up, hotels, transport, camels, meals, hammam, full logistics. Teachers bring mats and set their own fee.
